Education systems are resistant to change and are failing to prepare students for the future and the inevitable uncertainty they face. Are you tired of waiting for the system to change?
What if there were some small, doable changes you could make right now that would transform how your students experience school?
Envision a Flexible Mindsets classroom where carefully crafted questions pique curiosity and drive self-awareness, where we listen whole heartedly to each other and where we learn together exploring topics that matter most to us. Imagine this could be your classroom.
It’s time to reimagine how we educate our children and bring the love of learning back to our classrooms!
WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
This course is for anyone who works with students and recognizes the challenges of fixed mentalities in schools.
If you are searching for tools that you can use now to build Flexible Mindsets, rather than waiting on the world to change, this course is for you. This process is for those who are ready to shift the balance between:
- academic learning and social and emotional learning
- teacher-led instruction and student-directed learning
- covering learning objectives and deepening student engagement
- meeting the learning needs of today and preparing students for uncertainty
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
This course will explore how teachers can use the principles of coaching to create an active, responsive and engaging learning environment that prepares students to be self-directed so they can confidently face the challenges and opportunities the future holds.
Using the Flexible Mindsets model, you will learn how to marry teaching with coaching techniques to transform students from conditioned, dependent learners to empowered, self-directed learners.
Throughout the course we will explore approaches to sharing knowledge and skills in a way that supports, not only what students learn, but how they learn it as a pathway to student autonomy.
By the end of the course, you will understand how to use coaching methods to liberate student learning and energize students to develop and utilize self-directed learning skills of self-awareness, strategy use, feedback and advocacy to succeed as lifelong learners in the classroom and beyond.
Are you ready to build a flexible mindset and reframe teaching as the pathway towards agency and adaptability?

“Education either functions as an instrument which is used to facilitate integration of the younger generation into the logic of the present system and bring about conformity or it becomes the practice of freedom, the means by which men and women deal critically and creatively with reality and discover how to participate in the transformation of their world.”
Richard Shaull, Pedagogy of the Oppressed
